We are supporting a new project with Southpole!

We will be supporting the development of wind power in Bac Lieu, Vietnam, to generate clean electricity and improve employment opportunities in the local area.

What is wind power?

Wind power is a type of renewable energy in which wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity.

Why Vietnam?

Vietnam has experienced a rapid increase in demand for electricity fueled by economic growth over the past two decades. However, with demand exceeding supply, electricity shortages and regular power cuts are negatively affecting the economy and local livelihoods.

What does the project help support?

The project involves the installation of 62 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 1.6MW. The project generates approx. 327,000 MWh of clean electricity on average annually, which is fed into the national grid. It will also support 111 new jobs.

How do we help?

This project will be supported by the offsetting of product emissions during the production process and so far we have offset a total of 242 tonnes of carbon emissions since 2021.
